My favorite week of the year is here! Oh Yeah….Ohio Brew Week. I attended my first 2011 event on Saturday night at the Ohio University Inn. The Inn hosted a Rock ‘n’ Roast BBQ and boy it was rockin’. I arrived there with daughter Camille in tow, ready for some great food and company. What i found on the patio was pretty awesome. The place was packed full of families and other brew-goers enjoying this kick off event. The smell of BBQ could be detected all the way down Richland Ave, and if that were not enough to entice, The Unlikely (band) were belting out tunes that had the crowd dancing despite the heat.

There were many familiar faces among the crowd. We sat at a table with my friend Kristie and her two boys, one of which quickly decided Camille was about the coolest thing going. Also sharing this table in the sun were the Millers and the Bertuna’s. We enjoyed the amazing bbq and, of course, brew. This turned out to be one of those good ole’ fashioned family events. Truly there was something for everyone here.

I ran into my friends Greg and Steph Kaple, who just became parents to Charlotte. Greg declared that we had to season our girls because there were the next generation of Brew Week enthusiasts! Ummm ….maybe a few generations away Greg!
