Located next to the campus of Ohio University, 3 Elliott Studio is owned and operated by Josh Antonuccio and Christopher Pyle, both graduates of Ohio University. It has become one of the most popular recording studios in southern Ohio since its opening in the fall of 2000. 3 Elliott Studio offers a state-of the-art five-room facility with excellent recording rooms, industry standard pre-amps and microphones, vintage equipment and skilled engineers, along with both analog tape recording and digital multitrack.
But it’s not just the gear that makes 3 Elliott Studio a favorite of musicians from all over the world. 3 Elliott Studio is part of the Athens music scene—a community of musicians and supporters, studios and performance venues. “In Athens, there’s an open stage every night of the week,” says Josh enthusiastically, “that usually doesn’t happen in cities.” Athens is a place where musicians can grow both personally and professionally. And as many Athens musicians know, they don’t have to be professional musicians either. It’s a common thing to be out and hear bands composed of local business owners, university faculty and a myriad of other professions, all playing together.
Among the bands to travel to Athens to record their music is Wilson’s Reservoir, whose recording session at 3 Elliott Studio is featured here. See and hear them along with thoughts from Josh by watching the video above.
