Arthur Oestrike: Bringing Business Full Circle

When Arthur Oestrike founded Jackie O’s Pub and Brewery in 2007 with his friend, he was committed to making it a community effort. The Brewery prides itself on creating neo-traditional handcrafted artisan ales. “Communities for thousands of years have been based around small business,” says Oestrike. Jackie O’s reflects this daily in their approach to business. Leveraging locally raised, grown, produced and/or manufactured goods/products in their dishes, Jackie O’s continually re-invests in Athens County. Many of the brewing byproducts are leveraged in unique ways as well. Spent grains from the brewing process are used in pizzas to create a unique multigrain thin crust. Another portion of the spent grains go to farmers who use it to feed the cattle that will later be leveraged for the beef used in Jackie O’s burgers.

Looking for more? Jackie O’s also offers live music from local artists. “All of these things come together to create a fun thing for the people of Athens, OH,” states Oestrike.
